A Day of Wonders at Jewel Changi Airport

Jewel Changi Airport is more than just a layover spot; it’s a destination that captivates with its blend of nature, retail, and culinary experiences.

Our day centered around the lush Shiseido Forest Valley and the lively Canopy Park, with delightful stops at Tsui Wah and Luckin Coffee, ending with the mesmerizing Light & Sound Show. Additionally, the "Jewel Blooms 2024" event added a spectacular floral touch to our visit.

Morning Serenity: Shiseido Forest Valley

Our journey began at the Shiseido Forest Valley, a verdant indoor garden sprawling across multiple levels.

Walking through this oasis, we were immersed in the tranquil sounds of cascading water and surrounded by over 2,000 trees and 100,000 shrubs. The trails offered a serene escape, making it easy to forget we were in an airport.

The unique SENSE art installation, with its sensory experiences of light, sound, scent, and touch, enhanced the feeling of being in a natural sanctuary. This installation, a collaboration with teamLab, combines illuminated trees, soothing music, and the signature scent of SHISEIDO Ultimune, providing a multi-sensory experience.

Yuen Yeung - Coffee & Tea

Midday Delights: Lunch at Tsui Wah

For lunch, we headed to Tsui Wah, a Hong Kong-style tea restaurant known for its cha chaan teng classics. The menu was a delightful mix of traditional and modern dishes. We savoured the rich and creamy Yuen Yeung, a harmonious blend of coffee and tea. The Crispy Bun with Condensed Milk was a sweet treat that paired perfectly with the Yuen Yeung.

Kagoshima-Style Braised Pork Cartilage

We also tried the Kagoshima-Style Braised Pork Cartilage, a dish that impressed with its tender meat and flavourful sauce. Another highlight was the Beef Brisket Curry with Steamed Rice, which offered a comforting and aromatic blend of spices. These dishes provided a satisfying and flavorful midday boost.

Afternoon Pick-Me-Up: Luckin Coffee

Post-lunch, we made our way to Luckin Coffee. This popular Chinese coffee chain impressed us with its high-quality brews. We enjoyed the Luckin Cold Brew and a classic Cappuccino, both of which provided a refreshing and invigorating break from our explorations.

Evening Adventures: Canopy Park and Jewel Blooms 2024

As the evening approached, we ventured to Canopy Park. This rooftop wonderland transforms into a magical space at night.

We explored the Walking Net, enjoying the thrilling views, and wandered through the Topiary Walk with its delightful animal-shaped topiaries.

The highlight, however, was the "Jewel Blooms 2024" event, running from May 25 to August 11, 2024.

This floral festival featured spectacular installations and interactive displays, including vibrant blooms in the Hedge Maze and stunning floral arrangements in the Mirror Maze.

The special collaboration with award winning Singaporean garden designer, Andy Eng and Japanese floral artist, Megumi Shinozaki added an extra layer of artistic beauty to the experience.

The event is a multi-sensory journey with aromatic scents and immersive music that evokes feelings of joy and excitement.

Magical Finale: Light & Sound Show at HSBC Rain Vortex

We concluded our day with the Light & Sound Show at the HSBC Rain Vortex, the world’s tallest indoor waterfall. The show runs at 8:00 PM and 9:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, and at 8:00 PM, 9:00 PM, and 10:00 PM from Friday to Sunday. As the lights danced and the music played, the waterfall transformed into a mesmerizing display of colours and patterns, providing a perfect and enchanting end to our adventure.
